About Mystic Archipelago: Rebirth

Mystic Archipelago: Rebirth is a complete rebuild of Mystic Archipelago, the idle RPG I released on Steam. The original never let you walk: you started a dungeon and watched. In Rebirth you explore each floor in first person, with doors, keys, chests and traps, and the fights find you along the way. It is built in RPG Maker MZ by Christopher Lim, and the plan is to release it on GOG.

What's New

Walkable Dungeons

First-person floors to explore, with doors, keys, chests, traps and hidden fights

Boss Fights

A dragon, a lich, and something waiting in the water, plus 15 new enemies

New Hero Art

Eight heroes redrawn in pixel art, and a warm dusk palette across the game

Widescreen

A widescreen window, menus rebuilt to fit it, and a new title screen

I'm sharing the rebuild as I go, rough parts included: what changed, what I measured, and what broke.
